Company Sponsored Socials

One of the unique things about the MTSU CIM Department are the concrete company socials.  Each semester, concrete companies are invited to campus to interact and recruit CIM students and alumni.  Many conduct socials that include an information session about their company and networking opportunities.  These socials are a great learning tool for our students, who learn about the concrete industry from the people who work in it while making invaluable industry contacts.  Often companies that host CIM socials will conduct interviews with CIM candidates on campus the following day.

How They Work:

Typically, each social usually begins at 6:00 PM with dinner or snacks served at 6:15, followed by a company presentation. The presentation lasts 20 – 30 min. and just lets the students know about the company, where the company is located, and what opportunities might be available.  Attendees can include CIM freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors and are valuable ways to learn about the various aspects of the industry as well as internship and full-time opportunities.

The day after the social many companies come back to campus to conduct interviews.  The CIM Department can accommodate most interview requests and all aspects of the interviews can be coordinated through our staff.  For more information, or to request a date to come on campus to recruit, contact Nicole Green.
