Dr. Jerry Morton has a Ph.D. in organic chemistry. Dr. Morton joined the CIM Program with a pulp and paper background and a concentration in fiber cement and cellulose fiber reinforced concrete.

Dr. Morton’s teaching and research interests include:

• Use of synthetic and natural fibers in fiber-reinforced concrete
• Internal curing and autogenous shrinkage of concrete
• Development of new fiber cement products, including engineered cementitious composites
• Rheology of self-compacting concrete
• Determination of water distribution in concrete by low-field NMR
