Dr. Jerry Morton has a Ph.D. in organic chemistry. Dr. Morton joined the CIM Program with a pulp and paper background with a concentration in fiber cement and cellulose fiber reinforced concrete. Dr. Morton's teaching and research interests include:
- Use of synthetic and natural fibers in fiber-reinforced concrete
- Internal curing and autogenous shrinkage of concrete
- Development of new fiber cement products, including engineered cementitious composites
- Rheology of self-compacting concrete
- Determination of water distribution in concrete by low-field NMR
